Development Applications

Last modified: November 5, 2009 - 4:31 PM

Council seeks to actively encourage and assist developers whilst remaining committed to environmental sustainability and the preservation of areas and buildings of cultural and/or heritage significance.

Council is the approval body for all development applications.

Development applications other than residential construction certificates are recommended for approval by Council's Tourism and Development Committee which meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month. Persons wishing to have an application considered by the committee should lodge their application at least one week prior to the meeting.

Parties seeking Construction Certificates for the construction or alteration of a Residential dwelling need only to apply directly to Council's Office where approval can be granted by Council's Senior Staff under delegated authority.

Typically, approval for residential construction certificates is given within 7 days, whilst other applications are approved subject to compliance with Council policy and other Statutory Authorities.

Development Application Forms are envelope in style to allow for plans and other documentation that may be required. They are available from the Shire Office.
